Why salvation is important, and how to be saved

If you did not already know, Jesus came to this earth to die for you on the cross. The purpose of his death was to break the power of sin and death over us and give us a chance to have eternal life. God’s plan for people who are saved is to wash away all their sins so they can have close fellowship with jesus. Salvation is important, because it is the only way to eternal life. Accepting Jesus as your lord and personal savior is the only way to salvation.

In the Bible are many verses about salvation and how to be saved. These verses include Roman’s 10:9, John 3:16,luke 13:31, acts 3:19, Matthew 3:2, mark 12:20, acts 15:11, acts 16:31, proverbs 16:3, psalms 37:5, and Roman’s 6:23. Those are some verses but it talks about plenty more though through out the bible. The plan of salvation is talked about in the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke.

One important question to ask yourself is, how do I become saved? First you need to know that Jesus is the only way to heaven and the father. Some people think that there is a certain salvation prayer to become saved, but I believe that you just have to do the things in the salvation prayer in order to be saved. As a Christian, it is very important to be saved. That is how we get close to God, through christ and that happens through salvation.

The first thing to do is realize that you are a sinner, and confess that you are a sinner. You do that by confessing your sins and asking the lord to forgive them all. The next thing is to love the lord Jesus with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength and believe in Jesus. Believe that God raised him from the dead. The last thing is to follow Jesus and commit the rest of your life to living for him and declare that Jesus is the lord. One thing you may notice is that this all comes down to faith and believing.

Numerous times throughout the bible, Jesus says all you have to do is believe and be saved. Jesus has said to many people follow me. This goes into Jesus being the center of our lives. As you get saved the bible says that all of heaven rejoices which shows that it is a big deal to get saved. God loves to see people come to him. There is also a saying that goes like this, once saved always saved. Some people believe this to be true and some do not. I am in the middle of these two, I don’t believe that Jesus would take away such a wonderful gift such as salvation, but after you are saved that does not mean you can go around sinning, thinking oh well he will forgive me.

He would still forgive you, but being saved also involves repenting of sin. This means to stay away from sin and do not purposly sin. This is part of the christian lifestyle. After you get saved, it is a good idea to get baptized, but you don’t have to get baptized to get to heaven (only faith in Jesus gets you there) but it is a good thing to do. The next thing to do is maintain a relationship with jesus the rest of your life, and remember if you do sin, Jesus’ mercy is never ending and all your sins will be forgiven until the day the lord calls you home.
