Faith is a weapon to be wielded like a sword.

Faith is the most important weapon we have in our daily walk with Jesus Christ. Faith is the foundation of our personal relationship with our Lord and Savior. We must exercise faith when we pray. Faith is required to overcome satan as he tries to lead us astray through tragedy and temptation. When it comes to our daily struggles, faith is a weapon to be wielded like a sword, not just a tool to be taken out of the box when we feel we need it.

Without faith we can’t come to God in the first place and expect him to hear our prayers, let alone forgive us of our sins. Our relationship with God can’t even begin without at least having the faith that he exists. In short, “No faith….No God, but, Know faith….Know God. It doesn’t matter where that first spark of faith comes from, only that a relationship with God the father, through Jesus Christ the son, is impossible to have without it.

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Faith is everything. It is the end all be all in our relationship with God. As our faith goes so goes that relationship. The stronger our faith, the stronger the relationship and the closer we draw to God. That’s why bible studies with my son and going to church mean so much to me. Both are needed to strengthen my faith. Through faith we believe in the unseen. Through faith, we know we didn’t evolve from a single molecular organism, but that God created us in his own image.

Hebrews 11:1-3 NIV

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

From the time we’re old enough to understand, we are told by our parents how important it is to have faith and belief in ourselves. That’s very true. However, faith and belief in ourselves should be a result of our faith and belief that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

No problem or situation is too big or too small for God when we wield faith in our prayers. Jeremiah shows his faith to God by how he opens this prayer. Has anyone ever addressed God in a greater fashion to open up a prayer than Jeremiah?

Jeremiah 32:17

“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is to hard for you.”

God’s immediate response to Jeremiah is amazing

Jeremiah 32:26-27 NIV

Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything to hard for me?

God rewarded Jeremiah’s faith by answering his prayer. He continues to reward our faith as well. The more faith we wield, the more God rewards us. He rewards us with healing, comfort, protection, and in ways we have yet to see. It may not always be the way we request his help, but it’s always by his will. His way is ALWAYS better than ours. Wielding our faith like a sword is God’s will for us.
